Recovery is… Love.

Recovery is… healing through love and connection. When we can learn to love and connect to ourselves and others in healthy ways, we can heal our wounds and pain.  I believe that love and connection is what we, as humans, need in order to heal and yet it is often the thing we are most afraid of. In connecting with others, we are healing the hurts and pain in ourselves.

“You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it’s better to listen to what it has to say.”
– Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Mini Bio

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have family in Northern New Mexico and Medellin, Colombia. I studied Education in my undergraduate pursuits. I have dedicated most of my career to working with children in various capacities.  Through my personal and professional experiences, I witnessed the desperate need to connect and be loved. Yet, I found that often our own experiences and past wounding get in the way of knowing we can love and be loved, we deserve and we are enough. This led me to pursue a Masters degree in counseling. In May of 2016, I received my License in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. During my various internships and since graduating, I have worked with individuals, children, couples and families. I began working at the Evolution Group and have continued my passions to work with these populations. I work as a relationship-based therapist, utilizing attachment-based theories.  My belief is driven by my desire to be authentic and genuine to create connection with my clients. The therapeutic relationship guides clients in their healing to experience vulnerability, trust and connection.  I believe that love and connection is what we all need in order to heal and yet it is often the thing we are most afraid of.
