Domestic
Violence & Anger Management
The Evolution Group, Inc. sees
a big the difference between problems with anger versus domestic
violence.
An individual who has anger problems
could have any number of contributing issues that are causal,
such as a physiological problem, a chemical dependency issue,
anger arousal issues, a Type A personality, high stress and poor
stress management skills, etc.
Domestic violence is violence
that is directed at family or significant others and is not due
to anger problems (although an anger problem can contribute to
the issue). Rather, it is an attitude, a mistaken attitude much
like racism or classism and is usually learned and can be complicated
by co-occurring disorders such as addictions, or other mental
health issues. The treatment approach for these two separate
issues is also very different and can be viewed in the related
links on this web site.
