Intensive Outpatient Program
Treatment may begin or later
be revised with an added Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
This program is a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week.
IOP can include acupuncture, individual therapy, and intensive
daily three-hour treatment groups. IOP is designed to be an intensive
treatment that is an inexpensive alternative to day treatment
or inpatient treatment.
The purpose of IOP is to provide
the opportunity to focus intensively on motivational issues,
acquire new sobriety skills, and develop insight for the client's
benefit into whatever is causal in the addiction process.
IOP includes relapse prevention
therapy which focuses on past patterns of use and relapse, identification
of warning signs and triggers, and active development of planning
and preventive techniques.
IOP can also mean individual
care-management focus, additional self-help commitments such
as AA, SMART Recovery, Twelve-Step Meetings, etc. Contact us
